1 July 2025
Organizer spent an hour out in the garage doing her thing. AND things are better. NOT perfect by any means, but better. Gardener dead-headed the roses, pulled some weeds, and other scorched plants from the heat.
Chauffeur took us to the neurologist for our appointment at 11. We were told we have "essential tremors" and what to do about them, with a future EEG in the picture. We are NOT into the medicine route, so will try other suggestions, etc.
Upon returning home, Chef warmed up some lunch from a neighbor, and then Angelo dropped by to see how things were going. We sat out in "The Doors" and talked. We briefly discussed the "SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS" in the area. They are really stirring up out there now.
THEN we pondered what to do next. WHAT TO DO! There is MUCH to do, it just depends on where to start, this late in the day. IF we start projects, we may not finish them, and THEN we have to deal with that.
So, we started reviewing "memories" on Facebook. Fascinating how "thunderstorms" and severe flooding were in many of the past memories. Then we found a photo to share!!! SO...
At 2:18 this afternoon, Correspondent sent said photo to Queen's oldest son. She KNEW he could relate, as that is his hangout. He expressed his opinion of "EXACTLY" and a <3.
Enter Disciple. She is constantly looking for God's hands in our lives, AND sees His hands frequently during the day. Some people think things are random. They are NOT. NOTHING is random, coincidental, or anything else. EVERYTHING has a reason and a purpose!!! NEVER think otherwise. God knows EACH of us perfectly! He knows where we are, what we are doing, and why. We are ALL part of a great plan. WE have a purpose. While this may seem insignificant and small, seeing things in the BIG picture is the key. Knowing who is behind things, allowing Him to show us what He does, and recognizing Him in our lives is incredible. We are filled with AWE, just knowing He knows each of us individually.
And so we are starting this week. We are still anxious about some things. We are feeling much better healthwise. We are SO grateful for family and friends. We still feel blessed. We are feeling the patriotism. And then there is the questionable part of the week. But it will pass. It will be okay. We know this because we keep telling ourselves that. AND we would never lie to ourselves.
HOLY HANNAH!!! Earlier this pre-evening, the wind was SO strong we couldn't believe it. We thought The Hermitage was going to blow away!!!
Our neighbor couldn't get her guy to go with her, so she called over here. We were MORE than happy to go on an adventure with her to see what was happening up on Tropicana!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! The power lines on Trop between Sandhill and Eastern were down! Havoc everywhere!!! Caution tape everywhere. Power poles snapped or bent. Signals down. Power is out at all of the stores, restaurants and businesses! Police. NV Energy cars and trucks! Absolutely unbelievable! AND we also found out that on Sahara between Eastern and Boulder Hwy. the same thing!
Board Member found out four of the trees in the HOA blew down! There may be more. She only knows of four though.
We are safe, and we have power at The Hermitage. THIS is monsoon season and it seems to start on July 1st every year. We are supposed to get more tomorrow.
UPDATE from this mess as of 1PM 2 July 2025.
We had to go out and it is obviously still a mess. This involved at least 50 poles. Some people are still without power. Businesses are still closed. Chauffeur used Sandhill to get to where I was going and it was fine, BUT coming home, a bus was stuck at Trop. and Sandhill blocking the intersection! It has been raining, and we are supposed to get it off and on today. We just hope NO WIND! Everything at The Hermitage seems good.
